    New Horizons Unfolded: The Victory of the Doonites in The District Basketball Tournament

    August 23, 2024, began with a mesmerizing dawn as the bright sun bathed the District Basketball Tournament Under-19 Champions of DIS Mohali in a golden glow. Embracing their recent triumph, the victors prepared to take on their next challenge with renewed vigour at the State Tournament.

    Three talented students from Doon International School, Mohali, have brought immense pride to their school by excelling in the Innovation Challenge 2, held by the ATAL Community Innovation Center at CGC Landran, Mohali, on August 9, 2024.

    Moksh Kinger (Grade X) and Parth Luthra (Grade IX) achieved a remarkable second place and a cash prize of Rs 7,000 for their novel drone designed for 'Disaster Management'. In addition, Japanpreet Singh from Grade VII secured an impressive third place and a cash prize of Rs 5,000 for his ingenious DIY refrigerator in the 'Waste Management' category.

    Their standout performances demonstrated through live project showcases, were especially noteworthy given the fierce competition among the top 18 contestants from across the country. These accomplishments highlight the exceptional creativity and skill fostered within the Robotics Club at Doon International School.

    Mantej Singh, a stellar student of grade IV from Doon International School, Mohali has achieved an outstanding feat by winning a bronze medal at the prestigious State Fencing Championship held at Sangrur. His exceptional performance has earned him a well-deserved qualification for the national competition, set to take place in Odisha next month. This remarkable accomplishment not only highlights his dedication and skill but also promises an exciting future in the sport.

    "Perseverance goes a long way - Success is not final. It is the courage to continue that count." The words of Winton S. Churchill were proved true by the young stalwarts of Doon International School when they exhibited excellent results in the CBSE Board Examinations of Grades X and XII.

    Hargun Kaur was declared the District Topper in the Class X CBSE Board exams with 98.6%. She was followed by 25 other achievers who scored 90% and above. Apart from them, 21 students scored 80% and above and shared in the glory of success. This outstanding result reflects the school's unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of tutelage and the students' perseverance and dedication. The Directors of the school, Mr. Charanjeet Singh Mann and Ms. Simrita Mann, along with the Principal, Ms. Ira Bogra congratulated the students and their proud parents on their accomplishments.

    The young achievers carried forward the legacy of excellence as Unat Kaur Pannu from Class XII Humanities topped the school with 98.6%. She was followed by Seerat Kaur, Aaradhya Bajaj and Hartaj Singh as Medical, Commerce, and Non-Medical stream toppers with 96.6%, 95.8%, and 93.8%, respectively. 15 students got 90 % and above and 26 were included in a long list of Class XII achievers who scored 80% and above.

    Doon International School has been honoured with the prestigious Education Excellence Award, recognising it as the premier educational institution in the Punjab region. The award, presented by Dr. Sarkar, Minister of State for Education, acknowledges the institution's commitment to providing outstanding academic and co-curricular facilities to its students.

    The Principal of the school Ms. Ira Bogra graciously accepted the award on behalf of the institution during a ceremony held on February 8, 2024, in Delhi. This recognition serves as a testament to the school's unwavering pursuit of educational excellence and its significant contributions to the academic landscape.

    The stupendous performance of Amrinder Singh, a grade V student of Doon International School, Mohali resulted in his grand victory in Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan State Level Boxing Championship 2023. He brought laurels to the school by securing the first position in this championship.

    Sameer Singh Shergill, a class VI student of Doon International School, Mohali won the FIDE- rated below 1700 Amateur Mohali Open tournament held at Learning Path School on July 30, 2023. Sameer dominated the field with the perfect score of 6/6.

    Champions of the Pool: Doon International School Makes a Splash in State Swimming Championships!!
    Doon International School, Mohali once more took a lead in 34th Sub- Junior Punjab State Swimming Championships organized by Mohali Swimming Association. Two swimming champs from the school participated in Sub Junior Category. Agamjot Singh (class IV) bagged six gold medals in all the six events and Angad Singh Walia (class V) won 4 gold and one silver. Mohali district was declared champion in under 11 boys and overall champion in the Sub Junior Category in the State of Punjab. Ekamveer Singh Walia, a student of class X bagged 4 gold, two silver, and one bronze in the Junior category.

    The Knowledge Bus Global School, Mohali organised an Inter School Competition ‘Elysian 2023’. Navya Setia, a class XII student of Doon International School, Mohali secured II position and Khanak Sabharwal, a class V student secured III position in the ‘Illustration’ (Draw and Colour) category.

    Usneek Kaur, a class VIII student of Doon International School, Mohali bagged a silver medal and Divanshi Jindal, a student of the Doon International School Shooting Academy won a bronze medal in the District Rifle Shooting Championship 2023.

    Sameer Singh Shergill, a class VI student brought laurels to the school by winning the U15 District Chess Championship with a perfect score of 6/6.

    CBSE North Zone II Swimming Meet 2022- 23 declared Doon International School as the champion school in the Under 11 Boys category. The honour was given because of the stupendous performance of the two students, Agamjot Singh of class V and Angad Walia of IV. Both the boys won gold medals in this championship.

    Ekamveer Singh Walia, a class IX student of Doon International School, Mohali paved his path to success by wresting multiple medals in the 66th State Swimming Competition in Under- 17 category organized by Department of School Education Punjab held in Sector 78 Sports Complex Mohali from 18 to 19 November 2022. He bagged gold medals in 50 mtr freestyle and 4x100 mtr medley relay, silver medals in 400 mtr freestyle and 4x100 mtr freestyle relay and a bronze medal in 200 mtr freestyle.
